A fascinating resource of material about everyday life in Britain, we are a registered charity dedicated to collecting and analysing written records from 1937 to the present day.
The Archive is in the care of the University of Sussex, and is housed at The Keep in Brighton, as part of the university’s Special Collections.
Volunteering with us is an opportunity to play an active role in the recording of Britain’s daily life, and gain valuable hands-on experience within the archive and heritage sector.
Interested in volunteering?
We offer volunteering opportunities that encompass different aspects of our work, from joining our national panel of writers who contribute to the archive, to helping sort, list and repackage our collections to make documents available for research.
We are not currently recruiting new volunteers, but please do watch this space for new opportunities coming up!
