Good Space?
You’ll know you’re in one when volunteering works for everybody.

Our mission

At Good Space, we connect people with flexible and supported volunteer opportunities in arts, heritage and sports. These empower people to improve their mental wellbeing, connect with others, gain valuable skills and experience, and contribute to our partners’ positive community impact. We champion inclusivity and want to inspire everyone to volunteer, whoever they are and wherever they’re from.

Our vision

We have a vision of a world in which volunteering is creative, inclusive and fulfilling for everyone. We’re aiming to build a national movement that demonstrates the positive impact of volunteering on mental health.

Our Core Principles

Volunteering is a powerful way to foster mental wellbeing, build connections, develop skills and strengthen communities. To ensure every opportunity is meaningful and inclusive, we’ve developed a set of core principles that guide our collaboration with partners. These principles outline the shared values and commitments that underpin the Good Space movement, helping our partners create environments where volunteers feel supported, valued, and inspired. By working together, we aim to grow a network of opportunities that enrich lives and deliver lasting impact.

I set foot on Brighton soil just shy of April 2022, knowing only 1 person, who was my flatmate and had the world at my feet to discover myself, a new city and life for 6 months. So what does one do when they want to make an impact and meet awesome people along the way? Volunteer! The immense support from the group of volunteers is a feeling that I hope everyone gets to experience, for it made me feel valued and seen like never before.
